Lean-Flow Certification for
Healthcare: November 2006
Our Lean-Flow Certification Program for Healthcare offers specialized instruction for the healthcare professional. Workshops are designed for all types of Healthcare situations that directly target your relevant issues.
You already know the benefits of a truly LEAN enterprise — it produces more with existing resources because it eliminates non-value-added activities and creates flow throughout the organization. But Lean-Flow principles can be difficult to apply—whether in the operating room or in the administration office. Our experienced practitioners provide personalized, hands-on, practical experience that cuts through the confusion of methods, systems and rhetoric to focus on RESULTS! The five courses are described below:
Lean-Flow Basics for Healthcare
Our Lean-Flow Basics workshop introduces a systematic approach to eliminating waste and simplifying processes. Learn how to eliminate the nine forms of waste, use the 5S approach to get organized, apply point of use storage concepts, and implement cellular/flow layout to improve throughput and much, much more. Live Healthcare simulations provide realistic before and after scenarios.
Value Stream Mapping (VSM)
VSM is a method to visually depict material and information flow through an operation. You will learn the principles and techniques of the Value Stream Mapping process and draw a map of the current state of a sample company, apply Lean- Flow concepts to develop an improved future state, draw it and identify the next steps needed to achieve the future state. Leave with the ability to map your real work processes.
Creating Lean-Flow I & II
Learn how to analyze, design and implement a Lean-Flow system using the 3+3 Project approach. The Kaizen Event project approach is quick but often superficial. The 6 Sigma project approach is effective but can be lengthy and time consuming. The 3+3 Project approach is a blend of these two methodologies that has proven effective and efficient in multiple industries. Practical Healthcare simulations demonstrate real-world results.
These two workshops take you on a guided step-by-step journey on how to create Lean-Flow in your organization.
- Lean-Flow I - Learn how to analyze your opportunities, benchmark and set goals, map your existing process and brainstorm changes to the process.
- Lean-Flow II - Learn how to map and balance the new process, create a new physical layout, get Management approval and implement the new process.
5S/Visual Workplace
The principles of 5S are based on the simple idea that high productivity begins with a workplace that is organized, clean and contains all, and only, what is required. 5S is systematic approach on how to get and stay organized. Learn how to deploy 5S methodology and implement visual workplace techniques in your operations. Return to your organization with skills that will allow you to implement rapid and visible positive change.
